This year an NFL cheerleader has taken action into her own hands by kneeling during the national anthem. She shocked the nation as being the first cheerleader to kneel during the national anthem. This caused a lot of controversy, just as Colin Kaepernick did when he first did it. Her protest took place the day after Veterans Day as the NFL spent the week celebrating the U.S. military.

The timing was sure to draw some criticism from people who associate player protests with a form of disrespect to the military. This 49ers cheerleader was in support of NFL player protests against police brutality and racial injustice. She has been identified as 24 year old Kayla Morris, and has been with the 49ers for two seasons.
