I recently saw the movie called “The Upside’’ starring Kevin Hart who everyone knows and also the actor Bryan Cranston, who if you didn’t know played the dad on the old early 2000s show called Malcolm in the Middle. Well this movie called The Upside was a mixture of a drama and a comedy. It seems to make you super sad at times and the next moment you’re laughing at some stupid joke Kevin Hart’s character said.
Basically the whole plot of this movie is that a guy named Phillip is paralyzed from the neck down from a paragliding accident and he needs a caregiver. His assistant wants the best for him and sets up a ton of interviews with all these very qualified caregivers. Phillip though, is stubborn and seems like he just wanted to make his assistant mad. Kevin Hart character is fresh out of jail and needs a job. He’s obviously not qualified to be a caregiver but he needs something. He walks into this interview expecting to get his paper signed to prove to his parole officer he’s at least trying to get a job. Philip ends up really liking Kevin Hart character named Dell. Dell also has a young son who he’s trying reconnect with but his baby mamma doesn’t think that’s a good idea since Dell is struggling and isn’t making good money yet until Phillip hires him.
Over the course of this movie Dell and Phillip build a kinda odd friendship. I should also mention that this movie is based on a true story. I think their odd friendship is what makes this movie so great. I would recommend this movie who’s into dramatic comedies. It will definitely put you on a wild roller coaster of emotions. It definitely makes you feel some sympathy for people who are paralyzed and how others look at those people differently due to the fact they can’t move their bodies.
In conclusion, if you have any free time see this movie, Ihave pretty high hopes that you’ll most likely love it as much as I do. I mean it says at least 92% of people who saw this movie really liked it. 92% is a pretty high percentage.
