This is a movie that recently came out and if you saw the trailers, it looked like it was going to be a great movie besides the fact that the main character’s eyes are huge. But you learn to get used to this CGI eyes and enjoy the movie. This movie is based on a Japanese manga name “Gunm” and is very similar to it in all ways including the main character, Alita. The story goes a little fast during the course of this movie but not at a pace where you don’t know what’s going on.
The plot of this movie is that a man named Dr. Dyson Ido who repairs cyborgs, finds the body of Alita and repairs her at his shop. Not remembering who she was, everything was all new to her until some events triggered her memory during the course of the movie and gives us a full explanation of what she is and why she is here. She meets many people and makes friends with some characters and makes enemies of most characters in this movie. There is a lot of violence in this movie but no gore to make it rated R. You will get to see a lot of robotic fights to the death with Alita at the center of almost all of them.
Surprisingly this is one of the anime adaptations that is actually good compared to the other ones such as Dragon ball evolution, Avatar the last airbender, and streetfighter. For all of you action fans this is a movie that is a must see and of course to also see this movie because of the amazing adaptations and scenery. The landscapes are huge and beautiful even though it is a dystopian society.
This movie is PG-13 and is now playing across all theaters. The rating I would give it would be a 9/10 for the development of the characters, the plot, scenery, and all of those amazing cinematic CGI battles. Now go see Mr. Jaeger (HAHA!) in this surprisingly good movie!
