This weekend I went and saw the new DCEU movie, Shazam. The movie was really good and I recommend you see it if you really like comic movies. The movie is about young Billy Batson who ends up becoming a superhero. Billy is a young foster kid who doesn’t like being a foster child. His only goal is to find his biological mother. He’s just a kid struggling to be happy until he meets a wizard who gives him superpowers which make him happy and he starts to be happy and have more fun. I don’t want to spoil a whole lot but this movie is a great coming together family film. It shows Billy’s struggle with trying to be part of a family that isn’t his own and how he feels about his biological mother. Make sure to stay after the credits for the after credit scene that sets up a possible sequel. If you pay attention you may notice a familiar figure that you see early on in the movie.

If you ever wanted to be a superhero when you were a kid you probably wanted to be someone like Spider-Man, Batman, or Superman. I feel if more kids had known about Shazam they would have idolized him, because he’s closer in age to them. Kids would have been able to relate to him more, especially other kids who lived in foster homes. Shazam has always been a family friendly character and very family based. In the comics he and his foster siblings are all Shazam, which goes to show how much family means to Billy. Personally I thought it was a great movie and you should see it if you get the chance.
