Recipes for Stress & Anxiety

  • Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt Brownies: 
    • Dark chocolate contains magnesium, and is rich in antioxidants which helps reduce stress. 
  • Whole Wheat Bread: 
    • Make a sandwich with whole wheat bread! Bread contains magnesium and tryptophan which helps to prevent anxiety. 
  • Brazil nuts: 
    • They are high in selenium, which lowers inflammation caused from anxiety, and improves your mood. Brazil nuts also contain Vitamin E which has been shown to help treat anxiety. 
  • Fish: 
    • Fatty fish contains omega-3, omega-6, and Vitamin D which help regulate and reduce inflammation and improve healthy brain functions. 
  • An Egg Omelet:
    • Eggs are a good source of Vitamin D and protein which are essential in our bodies development. They also contain tryptophan. N amino acid, which boosts our serotonin levels and improves our overall mood. 
  • Greek Yogurt:
    • Yogurt contains probiotics which have been shown to lower social anxiety and stress. 
  • Chamomile Tea:
    • Chamomile contains apigenin, which has the same effect as an anti-anxiety medication, benzodiazepines. It also helps you sleep, so if you are someone who often finds yourself lying awake at night, try drinking some chamomile tea before bed. 
  • Pickles:
    • Pickles, like yogurt, contain probiotics which help lower social anxiety.
  • Avocado Toast:
    • Avocado is rich in folate, niacin, riboflavin, and thiamin, (B vitamins) which help increase your serotonin levels and regulate your mood.
