The 2024 Phoenix Suns season has ended in a very sad way ending in a 1st round exit by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 4 quick games. The Suns going into this series were heavily favored to beat the Timberwolves beating them in the regular season (4-0). The suns had -128 odds of beating the Timberwolves but they severely underachieved losing in an embarrassing way.

The Timberwolves played incredible defense against the Suns holding them to 103.3 points per game and Phoenix had an offensive rating of 110.4 during the series which would be 5th worst offense in the regular season. The suns lack of defense was another problem giving up 118.3 points per game and the Timberwolves having an offensive rating of 128.1 which would be best in the NBA.

The incredible play by Anthony Edwards who averaged 31.0 points per game with good splits who was MJ like in the clutch propelled the Timberwolves into sweeping the Suns. The Suns Kevin Durant and Devin Booker played decent throughout the series but the poor play of Bradley Beal and the rest of the team struggling it was not enough.

Overall this season for the Phoenix Suns has been very disappointing they were expected to win a championship but failed. Due to the big three taking up so much cap space the Suns don’t have the flexibility to improve the roster and have no choice to trade one of their main stars or run it back.
